Greenfield man arrested after he lead deputies in a vehicle pursuit

A 29-year-old man was arrested after he led deputies in a vehicle pursuit Saturday afternoon, that began in King City, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies attempted to stop Pedro Elizondo who was driving in the area of Highway 101 and Central Avenue in King City, deputies, but he refused to stop.

Deputies said Elizondo continued driving on Highway 101 going northbound. He lost control and collided with a small skid steer tractor as he was exiting Oak Avenue in Greenfield.

Deputies said he fled on foot but was shortly caught by a Soledad Police Officer.

The Sheriff’s Office said a passenger was also inside the vehicle who told deputies she had asked Elizondo numerous times to be let out of the car.

Elizondo was also in possession of methamphetamine, deputies said.

He was booked into the Monterey County Jail.
