Seaside honors man for helping homeless burn victim

Seaside city leaders honored a Good Samaritan at Thursday night’s meeting after he helped rescue homeless people who were set on fire at Laguna Grande Park.

It all started march 13th, when police say Steven Palmer set fire to another homeless person at the park.

The suspect, and two other victims were burned pretty severely by the flames set to their homeless camp.

Seaside city staff say Lee Murray, who works for the city, was in the area and after getting a description of the second burn victim was about to track that person down in the park and get them help.

Medical personnel say Murray may have saved the person’s life.
