Two teens arrested after alleged high speed chase with police
Hollister police said two teens were arrested Saturday for their alleged involvement in a high speed chase through downtown in a stolen car.
Officers said one of the teens is accused of stealing a silver Honda Accord on Friday night. They said the car was spotted on San Juan Road with its high beams on.
An officer said he tried to pull the car over after the teen failed to dim the lights. That’s when police said the teens led them on a pursuit and started throwing contraband out of the window, possibly including drugs and a handgun.
After reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, officers said the 17-year-old pulled over and the 14-year-old tried to run away.
Officers said the 17-year-old admitted to stealing the car and was taken to Juvenile Hall on multiple charges. They said the 14-year-old was also taken to Juvenile Hall. Officers said both teens are known gang members and the Honda was returned to its owner.
