Castroville man convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm

A Castroville man is convicted by a jury of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Officers with the Monterey County Auto Theft Task Force responded to 53 year old Michael Scott Pipitone’s home on Del Monte Farms Road in Castroville back on April 9, 2014 to arrest a wanted felon known to be staying with Mr. Pipitone. Inside, officers found a bolt-action rifle, a loaded pistol magazine, and more than 30 rounds of ammunition.

Mr. Pipitone’s sentencing is scheduled for March 24, 2015. He faces up to six years, eight months in state prison.
