Speed limit increased on Highway 101 through Prunedale

There is now a new speed limit for a 10 mile stretch of Highway 101 through Prunedale.

On Thursday, February 26, the speed limit was increased from 55 mph to 65 mph on the highway between Boronda Road in Salinas to Crazy Horse Canyon Road Interchange in Prunedale.

The speed limit was changed because crews finished the work for the Prunedale Improvement Project.

There are signs to let drivers know about the new speed limit. Caltrans also wants to remind drivers that the speed limit for Highway 101 will stay at 55 mph through the San Juan Road Interchange Project limits, from Dunbarton Road to Cannon Road/Rocks Road.
