Mural in honor of Salinas hit and run victim

Last summer, Adrian Garcia, 27 died after a hit-and-run crash, while riding his bike near Natividad Road and Los Coches Ave. in Salinas. On Sunday, friends and family came out to start a mural not only in his honor, but also to raise awareness for cyclists on the road to be careful.

Garcia’s girlfriend said the pain is just as fresh as when the crash happened and this is why.

“More than anything it’s to remind the person who did this, you know it’s been almost eight months and it’s been hard and it’s not fair that all of us here are suffering and the person is still out there,” Salinas resident Eliana Coronel said.

Friends and family ask the public to respect the mural art, as well as come forward with any information about the hit and run. They believe the car involved is a white 2010 Ford Mustang or newer.
