Job Description: KION TV Monterey-Salinas, has an immediate opening for a Meteorologist.

KION 46 is looking for an experienced meteorologist to join our team on California’s beautiful Central Coast. The ideal candidate has a passion for all things weather, and will produce and anchor weather casts using our state-of-the-art weather forecasting equipment (WSI).

Meteorologist’s duties include forecasting and building weather maps using computer generated graphics, as well as posting forecasts to web. We’re looking for someone with a great on air personality, who can connect with our local viewers during live newscasts and report the weather of the day clearly and comfortably. The candidate should also be active and engaging with viewers via social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter. The ability to interact well with co-anchors and other personnel, meet all deadlines, and adapt to changing work schedules is also essential to this position. Bilingual candidates and those with MMJ/news reporting experience are encouraged to apply. Flexible schedule and public appearances required.

Qualifications: The candidate must have a four year meteorology degree and at least two years of on air weather experience. Experience with WSI is a plus. A valid driver’s license is required. Candidate must pass a drug test and background check.
