5.7 Earthquake hits off northern California coast

A magnitude 5.7 quake hit in Humboldt County Wednesday afternoon according to the USGS.

The moderate quake hit just after 1pm and was centered 25 miles south west of Ferndale and 39 miles south west of Eureka.

A 2.6 aftershock struck 16 minutes later.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. A tsunami warning has not been issued at this time.
