CHP: Two San Jose teens crash car after high-speed chase ends in Morgan Hill

CHP officers say they tried to pull a stolen car over Sunday night on Hwy 101 near Burnett Avenue in San Jose but the driver took off.

The Honda Accord reached speeds of 85 miles per hour, and CHP officers say the car eventually exited at E. Dunne Avenue in Morgan Hill. That’s when officers say the driver lost control on a turn and hit the center divide, flipped over the median, and landed the car on it’s roof.

Officers say a 14-year-old and 15-year-old both from San Jose got out of the car; the passenger was detained but the driver ran.

CHP assisted by Morgan Hill Police were able to catch the driver a short time later.

Officers say alcohol played a part in the accident.
