Two victims in Thursday night shooting in Salinas
Salinas police are working on their tenth shooting investigation in a little more than a week. On Thursday night, officers said man and a woman were shot near Terrace Street and Fremont Street. They were taken to the hospital.
Police said the victims were in their car in the 600 block of Terrace Street, when two suspects walked up. Investigators said the suspects said something to the victims. One pulled out a gun and fired multiple rounds. Police said both victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Residents who spoke with NewsChannel 5 said they saw the same grey van reported by witnesses in a shooting just a block away two nights ago on East Market and Carr Avenue. That’s where police said 17-year-old Cesar Gonzalez was gunned down.
Since Monday, there’s been a shooting each day in Salinas. Last night, investigators worked on an attempted murder case on East Laurel Drive.
