Deadly shooting on East Market in Salinas
UPDATE: Salinas Police identified the victim of a shooting on East Market Street as 17-year-old Cesar Gonzalez.
The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Witnesses told Police they saw a gray van stop in front of a house on East Market Street and several shots were fired. A van then sped away from the scene. Police believe the van was carrying three suspects who were all dressed in dark clothing.
It happened just before 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Police believe numerous people may have seen the van stopped in the roadway since the shooting happened during peak traffic times.
This is the seventh shooting and fourth homicide in six days in Salinas.
