Drones in agricultural fields
Videos recording personal drones are now getting a little more slack.
One of the areas that is getting more leeway is flying over agricultural fields.
The Federal Aviation Administration granted exemptions for these types of drones, including the first for real estate photography.
John Ivey from Monterey Drone says agricultural farmers o the Central Coast use the surveillance to help keep an eye on their crops.
“Having the drone out and being able to fly their fields right before harvest would be extremely important during the harvest to see what areas are having a growth problem, water problems, etc,” said Ivey.
Ivey says his company, Monterey Drone, is currently in the permit process with the FAA.
