Salinas records 1st homicide of 2015

The Salinas Police Department said at about 9:00pm on Thursday, January 7, they responded to a report of a man down in the 1600 block of Madrid Street.

Police said they arrived to find Paul Morales Jr. had been shot and killed.

Detectives say they do not have a suspect.

Police tell News Channel 5 that they do not believe the victim was in a gang but that they also don’t believe the shooting was random.
