Police release victims identities in homicide case last week

UPDATE 1-5-2015:

The names of the victims who were involved in the shooting in Seaside on December 29, 2014 have been released by the Seaside Police Department.

According to police, the woman who died after the shooting was 52 year-oldSeaside resident Elizabeth Marie Baker. The man who survived the shooting is 58 year-old Castroville resident Odell Robinson.

The Seaside Police Department is continuing their investigation of this incident. They encourage anyone with additional information to contact them.

1-1-2015:

Seaside police are now investigating four shootings, one of them fatal.

The most recent happened Friday afternoon just after 2:00p.m. on Wanda and Harding Streets. Officers responded to reports of five to seven shots fired and when they got on scene determined it to be a drive-by shooting.

Officers determined there were no victims and nothing was actually hit.

The suspect vehicle was described as a 2000’s model, white 4 door Nissan Altima occupied by two Hispanic males.

On New Years Day investigators said several shots were fired into a home on San Pablo Avenue just before 2:00a.m. One of those rounds traveled through the home and hit a second house.

There also no injuries in this shooting, officers say the suspect car is described as a shiny, green, 4-door sedan.

Police believe the shooting is gang-related.

On New Year’s eve night around 11:00p.m. police were called to another drive-by shooting at the corner of Lowell and Mingo Streets. Again, no one was hurt say officers.

On Monday December 29, a woman was found dead in a car at the corner of Fremont and Military Avenue, which is technically in Sand City, however Seaside Police say the shooting happened in its jurisdiction about 10:30p.m. Another male driver in the car was also found shot but is expected to survive.
