Freeze Warning for Friday night

A Freeze Warning is issued for parts of San Benito and Monterey Counties for Friday, starting around midnight and continuing until 8:00am Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

A cold air mass combined with clear skies and light winds will cause freezing temperatures for areas that are inland and elevated. Sub-freezing temperatures are very likely.

It will be coldest shortly before sunrise Saturday morning.

Areas most affected will be: the Southern Salinas Valley, Arroyo Seco, the Lake San Antonio-Santa Lucia mountains and the Los Padres National Forrest, the mountains of San Benito and the interior of Monterey County, including Pinnacles National Park.

Please take steps to protect your outdoor animals and sensitive plants.
