Coastal flood advisory for coast line in effect Saturday
A wet northwest flow will ease this weekend, but until then, clouds and light rain will continue to have its presence felt here on the central coast. A high surf advisory is in effect for our entire coastline through Saturday afternoon. A Northwest swell of 15-18 feet at 18 seconds expected with some breakers up to 25ft. The highest impact will be on Northwest-facing beaches. Beach erosion and dangerous rip currents are also possible. A coastal flood advisory will go into effect at 9:00am Saturday and last until 2:00pm. There will be a large swell in combination with a high tide, which could result in flooding along the immediate coast, sloughs and marshes.
Tonight: It will be mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Coastal lows will be in the low 50s, mid 40s to low 50s inland.
Saturday: There will be overcast skies with a few breaks of sunshine mostly inland. A few sprinkles are possible. Highs will be in the mid 50s to low 60s.
Sunday: It will be partly cloudy and a bit warmer. Most areas will top out in the upper 50s to mid 60s.
Extended: High pressure dominates the weather from the weekend until Christmas Eve. During that period, skies will be mostly sunny with only a few high clouds. Temperatures peak on Tuesday with widespread low 70s. We will cool a bit Christmas Eve as a storm system brushes by to our Northeast. Clouds will increase on Christmas Day and we’ll finish off the week with cool, dry conditions.the outlook for December 27th to January 2nd calls for near normal temperatures and slightly below normal precipitation.
