Shopping Madness in Capitola
It’s one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year. The Capitola mall was full of shoppers on a mission to find their last minute gifts.
Holly Walton squeezed in some shopping before she had to go to work.
“I was worried about the parking but the sales are great, so that’s why I’m buying so much because the sales are pretty good,” said Walton.
Store managers said this is the biggest weekend for the Christmas shopping season. Stores have many sales going on right now.
Some people even compared the mall madness to Black Friday shopping.
Lids store manager, Mario Diaz said, “Compared to Black Friday, until this weekend, this weekend has been more busier than Black Friday was.”
The store really bank on big sales during the holidays.
“And with this weekend alone I’m going over my budget of what I’m expecting,” said Diaz.
At Lids, the shoppers took advantage of the sales on hats. Diaz said they made about $2,000 over their budget Saturday, and the sales kept coming.
After getting a late start on shopping. Grace Angelos said she still has a lot on her list. In these final shopping days before Christmas, she said there’s one more important thing she doesn’t want to forget.
“The holiday season is all about love and sharing. It shouldn’t be about presents you know. I’m just trying to get myself in the right spirit,” said Angelos.
