Police: Unusual shooting in Salinas
An unusual shooting took place on the 700 block of East Alisal Street in Salinas, police said.
Just after 9 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to shots fired.
When they got to the scene, the victim was not there, police said.
They said someone took the 18-year-old to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm.
Investigators found a BB gun at the scene, which the victim later allegedly confessed he had been using to commit armed robberies in the area.
The person who wounded the victim, shot him in self-defense because he was being robbed, police said.
The person who fired the gun ran away.
