Monterey County to test emergency notification system Tuesday
Monterey County will test out its emergency notification system today as part of National Preparedness Month.
The county will be testing its system used for alerting the public of important public safety information such as natural disasters, evacuations, wide-area power blackouts, urgent law enforcement operations, and missing persons or kidnapped children.
Testing takes place Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 12:45 p.m. Residents will only receive a message if you have registered for Alert Monterey County prior to that date. If you have not signed up, you can do so by clicking on this link.
