Newsweek ranks Pacific Collegiate School #14 on top U.S. high schools list
A Santa Cruz school is ranked #14 on the latest list of top high schools in the U.S. released by Newsweek.
Pacific Collegiate School earned points for its high graduation rates, smaller class sizes and high percentage of students who go on to college.
PCS, founded in 1999, currently serves about 500 students in grades 7-12.
The rankings are based on a “college readiness score,” which is calculated using enrollment rates, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores and other factors. More about the methodology used to compile the list can read here.
Pacific Collegiate was one of five high schools on the central coast that were included in the magazine’s top 500 slots.
The other ranking local schools are:
#149: Dr. TJ Owens Gilroy Early College Academy
#209: Scotts Valley High School
#251: Carmel High School
#475: Santa Cruz High School
