Roadwork snarling traffic near San Juan Road and Highway 101

Traffic was reportedly snarled in the area of San Juan Road and Highway 101 as of about noon Monday due to roadwork.

The California Highway Patrol said they’ve received a number of calls about the traffic issues.

It’s part of the ongoing Prunedale Improvement Project that the Transportation Agency for Monterey County is working on.

Daytime tree work is being done along southbound and southbound Highway 101 between Pesante Road and San Juan Road from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting Sept. 15 and continuing through Sept. 19. TAMC advises motorists to expect delays of about 10 minutes.

A full list of planned work and expected delays associated with the Prunedale Improvement Project — as well as updates — is online here.
