Caltrans starts overlay project on 152 outside Watsonville

Crews have begun roadwork on a 6-mile pavement overlay project on Hwy. 152 near Watsonville from Holohan Road, east to the Santa Cruz/Santa Clara County line, Caltrans officials have announced.

Roadwork consists of one-way reverse traffic control with flaggers.Traffic delays of 15 minutes are anticipated. Work is expected to be complete by the end of October.

Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Occasional overnight work will also occur.

The purpose of the project is to improve roadway smoothness and extend the service life of the pavement.

O’Grady Paving Inc. of Mountain View, CA is the contractor for this $1.7 million project.
