Salinas police arrest one on gang, gun and drug charges

A Clay Street resident was arrested Thursday morning after parole officers say they turned up weapons, gang indicia and a large amount of methamphetamine.

Members of Salinas Police Department’s Violence Suppression Unit conducted a parole search on the residence of Gonzalo Ruiz around 10 a.m.

Their findings included four guns – two of which had been reported stolen.

Ruiz was booked into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of violation of parole, possession of methamphetamine for sale, felon in possession of firearms and gang enhancements.
