Advisory lifted for Monterey Municipal, Lovers Point beaches

Monterey County health officials on Thursday lifted the advisories at Monterey Municipal Beach and Lovers Point Beach in Pacific Grove.

The advisory was issued after high indicator bacteria was found in samples taken Monday. New samples taken Wednesday indicated that indicator bacteria are at a safe level for recreational water contact according to state guidelines.

Higher levels of bacteria have been associated with the increased potential risk of illness.
