Yolo County Sheriff: Malnourished dogs seized from rescue group
Sheriff’s officials in Northern California say they have launched a criminal investigation after discovering eleven malnourished dogs and three dead dogs at a Rottweiler rescue facility.
Yolo County Sheriff’s Capt. Larry Cecchettini tells the Sacramento Bee that officials seized the surviving dogs at Second Chance Rottweiler Rescue in Davis last week following a tip from a volunteer.
The facility was allegedly in disarray and had fecal matter everywhere. The eleven Rottweilers were taken to another rescue facility in Davis, where one was in critical condition.
Elaine Greenberg, president of Second Chance Rottweiler Rescue, said the dogs were on the slim side, but not emaciated. She said the incident was being blown out of proportion.
