Santa Cruz Warriors set D-League record for season ticket sales

The Santa Cruz Warriors exceeded $1 million in season ticket sales, marking the first time any D-League franchise has reached seven figures in season ticket revenue.

Capping off the most successful off-season in team history, the Santa Cruz Warriors received $20,000 today from local companies to purchase season tickets for disadvantaged youth. That’s part of the team’s newly-launched “Community Access” program.

“I’m most proud that we will be able to expand our community efforts to include additional free tickets for local families,” said Jim Weyermann, president of the Santa Cruz Warriors. “Our love affair with the community continues to surpass our expectations. This season, Warriors fans will help underwrite UC Santa Cruz basketball, local high school basketball and youth sports organizations including the Boys and Girls Club. Their contributions will allow us to produce these basketball games at Kaiser Permanente Arena, providing a professional experience for everyone.”

The “Community Access” program earmarks additional seats that can be distributed to local youth organizations and families
