Local kids learn basketball skills at Santa Cruz Warriors summer camp

Close to 100 kids participated this week in the Golden State Warriors Basketball Camp’s second Santa Cruz session.

The camp, held at the Kaiser Permanente Arena in downtown Santa Cruz, is for boys and girls, ages 7-15, of all skills and abilities.

Santa Cruz Warriors Head Coach Casey Hill stopped by Wednesday to give the campers some tips on drills and a little pep talk.

“We’ve got almost 100 kids out there having fun, playing basketball,” said Hill. ” It’s a great thing and it’s wonderful for me to come and be a part of it.

The Warriors will tip-off their third season in Santa Cruz in November. Season tickets are available now at www.santacruzbasketball.com.
