Monterey Co. Sheriff: Car chase leads to four arrests

Officers were on scene in Salinas on Laurel and Towt streets around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, after a car chase that started south of the city.

Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies said they spotted a stolen silver Honda Civic on Highway 101 at Gould a little after 1 p.m. They attempted a traffic stop but the car kept going, eventually exiting on Airport Boulevard then driving through the east side of Salinas, nearly hitting several cars.

The chase came to an end when the suspect car struck another vehicle in the area of Towt and Laurel streets.

Deputies took all four males into custody – two of which were juveniles. Inside the car, deputies said they found burglary tools, drug paraphernalia and a loaded gun.
