Capitola police release photos from March bank robbery

Capitola police on Wednesday released surveillance images from a bank robbery that occurred in March.

Police are still seeking the man they say robbed the Citibank at 1995 41st Avenue on the afternoon of March 25. The man walked into the bank and handed the teller a note demanded money. He was given the money and then fled in a tan or gold two-door 1980s model Honda Accord with damage on the passenger side.

He’s described as roughly 30-35 years old, olive complexioned, between 5’8″ and 5’10” with a medium build and a tattoo on his neck. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a white T-shirt, a black pullover sweatshirt, a black hat with no logo and aviator sunglasses.

Capitola police are now seeking the public’s help in identifying the man and/or the getaway vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Leo Moreno at 475-4242.
