Salinas Police at scene of possible funeral shooting

Salinas Police officers are on scene of reports that someone shot into the cemetery as a funeral and burial were going on Thursday.

The shots fired call was made at Garden of Memories Cemetery at the corner of Abbott and East Blanco in Salinas.

Officers are investigating evidence that may have been left behind and reports are that the shots may have been fired from a Lincoln Navigator. At this time, there are no reports of any victims.

The burial wrapped up and the cemetery said it was closing an hour early because of the possible shooting.

Police on scene would not confirm reports that the victim being buried was a gang member.
