Serial panty thief due in Santa Cruz County Superior Court Wednesday
A 48-year-old man with a history of stealing women’s underwear is scheduled to be in court Wednesday morning to set a trial date.
Conrad Smith of Live Oak faces charges for theft, possession of stolen property and violating probation.
Smith, who appeared on the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s most wanted list last summer, was arrested in January 2013 after probation officers found him in possession of several pairs of ladies’ underwear. That’s a violation of the terms of his probation, which were set in place for a previous conviction on similar charges.
Deputies said Smith has a history of stealing women’s underwear and bras from laundry facilities at apartment complexes in Capitola and Live Oak.
