Police probe 2 suspicious deaths in Sausalito
Police in Sausalito are probing whether the suspicious deaths of two people inside a home are the touristy city’s first homicides in five years.
Sgt. Stacie Gregory says officers discovered the bodies after responding to reports of gunfire early Sunday morning.
Police have released few details about the deaths in one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s more popular tourist spots, only describing it as an “isolated incident.”
Sausalito Police Chief Jennifer Tejada told the Marin Independent Journal on Sunday that there was no sign of a break-in at the home and that the public is not at risk.
The newspaper reports that if murder is involved, it would be Sausalito’s first since Chet Turner fatally slashed his live-in girlfriend, Avril Clary, in 2009.
Turner later pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges.
