Man shot, killed in Salinas Saturday
Salinas police said a 34-year-old man was shot and killed after what appears to be an argument Saturday night.
The incident happened at 1036 N. Sanborn Rd. at around 6:53 p.m.
Officers said when they arrived at the scene, known gang members tried to drag Heron Moran’s body into Moran’s apartment. Police said when the suspects saw police, they dropped his body and ran.
Moran was taken to Natividad Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
Police said more than 40 people tried to approach them at the crime scene and had to be forced back before medical aid could be performed on the victim.
There were many people on scene, but police said they gave different stories of what happened. Officers said they believe there may have been an argument between several people before shots were fired and Moran was killed.
Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call the department’s tiplines at 758-7133 or 775-4222.
