Live grenade found in Watsonville home

Watsonville Police closed the 300 block of Palm Avenue around 2:00 pm Saturday from Lincoln Street to Jefferson Street after a homeowner reported finding a live hand grenade.

The homeowner called police and reporting finding the device while cleaning.

Nearby homes were evacuated and the street was closed for public safety and a military crew went to take custody of the device.
