Thousands of dead fish wash up on Santa Cruz County beaches

Manresa State Beach and Seascape Beach near Aptos were overcome this week with thousands of dead anchovies.

Marina experts and fisherman say it’s possible that anchovy fishermen reached their quota and dumped the extra back into the water, where they then washed up on shore.
