Morgan Hill police warn of phone scams
The Morgan Hill Police Department says a number of residents called them Thursday to report they’d received suspicious calls asking for money.
In each instance, the caller told the resident there was an outstanding warrant for their arrest and in order to take care of it, they needed to deposit $750 into Green Dot.
A similar scam has been perpetuated through the state.
Morgan Hill police say no city, state or federal law enforcement agency would ever request or ask a individual to wire or send money to resolve a warrant or fee. The individual would be provide the necessary information to come to the police department or the appropriate court to handle the matter.
