Watsonville police identify 44-year-old man as victim of Sunday’s homicide

Watsonville police have identified Hilario Hernandez Ramirez as the victim of Sunday night’s fatal shooting.

Officers found 44-year-old Ramirez unconscious outside the Wall Street Inn on Beach Street around 9:30 p.m., with a gunshot wound to his neck.

Officers and paramedics attempted life-saving efforts but Ramirez died on scene.

Police have not taken anyone into custody and have not released a possible motive.
