Police make second arrest in Hollister rally shooting
Hollister police have arrested a Sacramento man in connection with a shooting that occurred during the Hollister Motorcycle Rally.
Lamar Copeland Guy Jones Copeland, 27, was arrested Tuesday in Sacramento and brought back to Hollister, where he was booked into San Benito County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and being a felon in possession of a weapon.
Hollister police believe Copeland was the shooter involved with the incident on July 6 in which three members of the “Boozefighters” motorcycle club were shot during a confrontation outside the Chevron Station on San Felipe Road.
Copeland is alleged to be a member of the rival motorcycle club, “Wino’s Crew.”
Police arrested a Boozefighter member, 42-year-old Michael Kich, the day of the violent confrontation. Kich was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly discharging a firearm.
