Hollister police investigating Monday night’s fatal shooting
Hollister police say a 31-year-old man shot Monday night died this morning from his injuries.
Officers responded to a shooting call on the 900 block of Prospect Avenue around 10:15 p.m. and found Daniel Manuel Cadenas suffering from gunshot wounds. While officers were administering first-aid, a foot chase ensued with the suspects. Nearby residents were asked to seek shelter.
Family members said Cadenas was in the area walking his dog on his way to the track at Rancho San Justo School. Cadenas was very health conscious and often jogged and exercised at the school, according to police.
Officers are actively seeking two suspects in connection with the shooting. Both are believed to be Hispanic male juveniles standing about 5’7′ tall. One is believed to be of medium build and was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a baseball cap, dark pants and white sneakers. The second is of thinner build and was wearing a white tank top and dark pants.
At this time, police have not determined a motive.
