Watsonville police investigating Tuesday night stabbing

Watsonville police are investigating the stabbing of a teenager Tuesday night.

Officers were dispatched to the Watsonville Community Hospital around 10:30 p.m. for a report of a victim of a stabbing who walked into the emergency room. Once on scene, officers learned that the teenage victim was stabbed once in the chest and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The teen was riding his bike on Jefferson Street when he was confronted by two Hispanic teenage males, police said.

One of the suspects asked the victim where he was from and then both suspects assaulted the victim. The two suspects then fled on foot on Jefferson Street and are still outstanding. The victim was transported to the hospital by an acquaintance.

Police said the teen was in stable condition.
