One man recovering after shooting at Salinas apartment complex
Salinas police said a 24-year-old man was shot twice on Orchard Avenue in Salinas Monday night.
He is expected to survive.
Police said the man was standing outside an apartment complex when he saw a newer, red Honda sedan drive by. The driver made a gang reference and the victim told him he wasn’t involved in gangs. The car drove off but then returned a short time later.
The driver, described as a heavy set male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and checkered shorts, got out of the car and began firing.
The victim was struck twice. Bullets also struck a nearby apartment and the laundry room. The victim was transported to a local hospital.
