3.2 magnitude earthquake felt on Central Coast

Some Central Coast residents might have felt a rumble Monday night as a 3.2 magnitude earthquake hit the San Juan Bautista area.

The small quake struck around 10:30 p.m. with two more smaller quakes recorded around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Residents in parts of Salinas, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Carmel and Watsonville — in addition to San Benito County — reported feeling the shake.

More information about the earthquake is available from the U.S. Geological Survey. The organization also asks anyone who felt the quake to report it using their online “Did You Feel It?” form – it helps the agency’s scientists with data collection.
