Fourth of July festivities on the Central Coast

Monterey County

Carmel: Beginning at noon Devendorf Park on Ocean Avenue, there will be live music, food, fun and games! Pack a lunch, bring a blanket and chill out to classic rock jams from Cheeky Spanks.
King City: Parade down Broadway at 9:30 a.m.; 4th of July in the Park Celebration at San Lorenzo Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with familiy activities, food booths and live music. Fireworks at dusk at the King City Golf Course.
Monterey: Parade kicks off at 10 a.m., followed by Big Little Backyard BBQ & Entertainment Extravaganza and Monterey Pops! concert.
Pacific Grove: Caledonia Park hosts annual Hometown Celebration from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Salinas: Northridge Mall Flag hosts flag raising ceremony at 9 a.m. with the Salinas Police Department Color Guard. Refreshments will be available.
Spreckels: Spreckels starts the day off with organized 5K and 10K races followed by a parade, crafts, food and more! Don’t miss a patriotic performance from the Monterey County Pops at 10am at Spreckels Memorial Park. The powerful ensemble of trumpets, French horns, trombones, euphonium, tuba, percussion and timpani includes a salute to America with songs like “Fanfare for the Common Man” and “Stars and Stripes Forever.”

Santa Cruz County

Aptos: World’s Shortest Parade at 10 a.m., Party in the Park from noon to 4 p.m.
Santa Cruz: The Santa Cruz Firecracker 10k goes through Harvey West Park and Pogonip. Registration starts at 7 a.m., Kids 1K starts 8 a.m., 10K 8:30 a.m. and 5K at 8:45 a.m.
Scotts Valley: Parade kicks off at 3 p.m., followed by festivities and fireworks in Skypark Park.
Watsonville: Spirit of Watsonville Parade at 2 p.m.

San Benito County

Hollister: Downtown plays host to the annual Hollister Rally July 4-6.
