One arrested after home invasion, sexual assault in San Jose
San Jose police say a teenage boy is in custody and another remains at large after they broke into a couple’s home and sexually assaulted an 85-year-old woman.
The suspects then made off with the couple’s SUV before crashing into the garage of a vacant home while being followed by the California Highway Patrol.
San Jose police spokesman Officer Albert Morales says the incident began early Tuesday morning, when the two boys entered the home armed with sharp weapons and forced the couple into the back of the house. At some point, an 85-year-old woman was sexually assaulted.
Police say after crashing the SUV, the driver got out and escaped. His 15-year-old passenger was pinned inside and was arrested and booked into juvenile hall.
