Overturned big rig blocking traffic on Highway 101 in southern Monterey County

As of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, the number one lane of Highway 101 was still blocked near the East Garrison overcrossing due to an overturned big rig truck.

The truck overturned Wednesday morning in the southbound lanes, but the northbound lane has been closed to give crews better access as they work to remove the truck.

Highway officials estimate the lanes will be reopened around 6:30 p.m.
