2 arrested in Hollister shooting; additional suspect sought
Hollister police said they’ve arrested two men in connection with a shooting on Easter Sunday and are seeking an additional suspect.
The man was shot on the 800 block of Washington Street. Officers worked diligently to develop leads and were able to identify three suspects.
A San Benito County Sheriff’s deputy located Blake Lopez, 21, on April 24 and turned him over to Hollister police. Lopez was booked into San Benito County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.
A citizen called police about possible gang activity on the 1200 block of Sherwood Drive the night of May 9. An officer who arrived recognized 19-year-old Roy Maldonado and took him into custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
Officers are still seeking 22-year-old Larry Quiroz and a $950,000 warrant has been issued for his arrest. Quiroz is described as a Latino male with brown hair and brown eyes, standing about 6-feet tall and weighing 180 pounds.
Anyone who sees Quiroz or knows his location is asked to contact the Hollister Police Department at 636-4330 x132 or call the anonymous tipline, (800) 78-CRIME.
Quiroz should be considered armed and dangerous, and residents shouldn’t take it upon themselves to try to apprehend him, Hollister police said.
