Search warrant executed at King City city manager’s office

As two King City police officers were back in court Wednesday, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office continued actively building their case against the six officers arrested in February.

On Wednesday, investigators served search warrant at the city manager’s office in King City.

Meanwhile, additional charges have been filed against two of the officers arrested in connection with the alleged corruption scandal.

Sgt. Bobby Javier Carillo and Acting Chief Bruce Miller pleaded not guilty Wednesday afternoon to an amended complaint that added a charge of perjury.

Miller and Carillo are among six King City police officers facing charges that include embezzlement, bribery and conspiracy.

The arrests came after an investigation into an alleged towing scam, in which prosecutors say hundreds of cars were illegally towed and impounded.

Former chief Dominic “Nick” Baldiviez, officer Mario Mottu, Senior Officer Mark Baker and Officer Jaime Andrade also face a number of various charges.

Brian Miller, brother of Bruce Miller, and the owner of a towing company, also faces charges in the case.
