Marina police: 2 men robbed women selling flowers Sunday night

Marina police officers say two men robbed women selling flowers in a parking lot at gunpoint Sunday night.

Around 10:20 p.m., two men wearing gray sweatshirts with their faces concealed approached two women selling flowers in the parking lot of the Food Corral Market.

One of the men pointed a handgun at the women, and the two suspects took the women’s cash box and then fled on Carmel Avenue toward Crescent Avenue.

An officer spotted a car leaving the area about a block from where the robbery occurred and attempted to catch up to it. A short pursuit ensued, leading into an apartment complex on Seacrest Avenue. The passenger fled from the car into the complex and the driver stopped.

The driver, 21-year-old Sean Underwood, was booked into the Monterey County Jail on suspicion of robbery, violating parole, vehicle pursuit and gun charges. Officers searched for the passenger but couldn’t locate him.
