Hottest temperatures this year to hit Central Coast

It’s going to shock the senses of many people who are used to the cooler Central Coast climate as temperatures hit the triple digits inland and in the 90’s along the coast for two days this week.

No heat records were broken Monday, but a heat advisory is posted for most of the Central Coast for Tuesday at 1 p.m. to Wednesday at 8 p.m. Temperatures will reach into the 90’s to 105 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday. It appears that we could also break record high temperatures for Tuesday and possibly Wednesday as well.

The National Weather Service says fire weather concerns will continue through at least Thursday due to very warm and dry conditions.

Anyone working or spending time outside should be prepared for very warm to hot conditions, particularly on Tuesday and Wednesday. NWS warns if possible, reschedule activities to early morning or evening hours to significantly reduce the chances of developing heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. In addition, remember that young children and pets cannot defend themselves from the heat and should never be left in unattended vehicles.
