Man arrested on $1.35 million in warrants in Salinas

An undercover officer in Salinas spotted a wanted man driving on North Main Street in Salinas Thursday evening.

The officer recognized Guadalupe Ramirez, who was wanted on warrants totaling $1,350,000 for gun, drug sales and gang enhancements.

Officers attempted to pull 34-year-old Ramirez over but he failed to yield and a car chase ensured. Ramirez lost control of his car and collided with a curb. He then took off on foot but was apprehended soon afterward.

Ramirez was booked into Monterey County Jail on the warrants and additional felony charges stemming from the car chase.
